Division of Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery
Director: Jerry L. Lowder, MD, MS
Our division’s multidisciplinary approach to female pelvic medicine research and treatment aims to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients with female pelvic floor disorders.
Our clinical and research missions
Our faculty are experienced surgeons specializing in the evaluation and treatment of patients with female pelvic floor disorders. We provide comprehensive care based on the most current knowledge in urogynecology and related fields.
Our research seeks better understanding of female pelvic conditions and their impact on patients’ lives. We are published in well-respected medical journals including “The New England Journal of Medicine” and “The Journal of the American Medical Association.”
Our educational mission
Through the Washington University and Barnes-Jewish Hospital FPMRS fellowship program, we provide advanced training and experience in the clinical care of women with pelvic floor disorders and in the theoretical and practical aspects of basic science, translation and clinic research.
In addition to fellowship training, we provide a dedicated six-week rotation for third-year ob/gyn residents.
