ST. LOUIS, MO — WashU Medicine OBGYN and Barnes-Jewish Hospital have been officially recognized by the Missouri Perinatal Quality Collaborative (MO PQC), in partnership with the Missouri Hospital Association (MHA), for their outstanding commitment to improving maternal and infant health outcomes across the state.
The team has been awarded the prestigious MO PQC Stars designation for its dedicated work across three critical quality improvement collaboratives:
- Obstetric Hemorrhage
- Severe Hypertension
- Maternal-Infant Dyad Affected by Substance Use Disorder
This designation awards the tremendous dedication of WashU Medicine OBGYN, Barnes-Jewish Hospital, and healthcare providers focused on reducing severe morbidity and mortality for mothers and infants throughout Missouri.
What it Takes to Be a “MO PQC Star”
Earning this designation indicates that a hospital has met rigorous milestones aimed at standardizing evidence-based care, increasing systems capacity, and tracking vital quality improvement metrics.
To qualify for the MO PQC Stars recognition, the WashU/Barnes-Jewish team met strict criteria:
- 75% or higher engagement in project calls, education, and coaching sessions.
- Submission of at least 85% of project-specific data.
- Implementation and sustainment of 90% of project-specific structure measures.

The project team accepted their award at the MO PQC Stars Recognition Dinner and Ceremony on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Camden on the Lake in Lake Ozark, MO.
