Farners Amargant i Riera, PhD, (she/her) is our new Assistant Professor for Ob/Gyn and CRepHS. She started with us this month.

Where did you grow up?
In Girona, a beautiful region in the north of Catalonia, Spain.
What is your favorite part about your job?
Every day is different! I love the freedom we have to choose what we want to investigate. I love the process of answering new questions and discovering new mechanisms that explain how our body works
What’s something that most people don’t know about you?
I grew up in a town called Santa Coloma de Farners, so I was named after the town. This is very common there, but outside my region, my name is extremely uncommon
What do you do outside of work? family? hobbies?
I am a big foodie, so I enjoy going to restaurants and cooking
What three items would you take with you to a deserted island? (excluding, food, water, & shelter)
A good book for sure, and a star map!
