Why did you choose WashU for your residency?
I chose WashU for the incredible clinical training with a variety of pathologies and high acuity cases, a wide range of research opportunities and an amazing patient population. I am so happy to return to WashU after six long years away!

What are you looking forward to the most by being a resident here at WashU?
I can’t wait to learn from the amazing faculty and serve the St. Louis community. I’m also very excited to do OBGYN all day everyday since it is the specialty that I have always wanted to pursue since I became interested in medicine.

What goals do you hope to accomplish during your residency?
I hope to gain a strong foundation to become a generalist in OBGYN and further develop my passions in clinical research and global health.

What are your research interests?
Maternal morbidity and mortality, abnormal placentation

What do you do outside of work?
I love spending time with my husband and twin sons, traveling, cooking and trying new restaurants and cuisines. We are incredibly excited to move back to St. Louis and explore all that it has to offer!

What’s something that most people don’t know about you?
After retiring as a doctor, I hope to move to Ghana with my husband.

We know it’s early, but do you have any fellowship plans for after residency?
I do not have any plans for fellowship yet! I am going to keep an open mind to everything as I experience each of the subspecialties during residency.

What advice would you give medical students applying for a residency in OBGYN?|
Don’t be afraid to reach out to residents to ask questions about the program! It can be difficult to determine fit when interviewing virtually and personal interactions can make a big difference.
