I am pleased to announce that after a national search, Kenan Omurtag, M.D. has accepted the role as our Division Chief of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility effective June 1, 2021.
Dr. Omurtag is an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and an accomplished fertility specialist, educator, and scholar. He has an outstanding track record of clinical knowledge, curriculum development, and mentorship of students, residents, and fellows. He serves as the Medical Director of the Fertility and Reproductive Medicine Center and Co-Director of the Integrative Care and Fertility Preservation Program. Dr. Omurtag has developed unique expertise in the use of technology, electronic medical record algorithms, telehealth, and social media to expand patient centered care and education.
A native of Rolla Missouri and a graduate of the 6-year UMKC School of Medicine program, Dr. Omurtag, completed his residency at Emory/Grady Memorial Hospital. He returned to his native Missouri to complete a Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the Washington University School of Medicine/Barnes-Jewish Hospital. After completing his formal training at age 31, he became Board Certified in 2015, making him one of the youngest Board Certified physicians in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Dr. Omurtag is collaborative and collegial and was selected for his energy and enthusiasm, his innovative ideas, and the vision he brings to the Division. We look forward to his leadership.
