Our Patients

The Maternal-Fetal Medicine Consultants of Washington University School of Medicine specialize in providing obstetrical services to women diagnosed with high-risk pregnancies, including those expecting multiple babies. The practice manages the delivery of approximately 300 high-risk pregnancies each year, including the delivery of more than half of the triplets and quadruplets born in the St. Louis area.

The Fetal Care Center is the only comprehensive center in the Midwest that offices a fully integrated patient experience in advanced fetal diagnostics, fetal surgical interventions before and after birth, and newborn medicine – all on one medical campus.

 Ultrasound Unit:


The Ultrasound Unit within the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Ultrasound provides complete obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound imaging services, prenatal and preconception genetic counseling, first and second trimester noninvasive screening and invasive diagnostic testing for fetal chromosome disorders, such as Down syndrome, and other heritable conditions as well as specialized diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
