Rotation Schedule

The ob/gyn residency curriculum consists of nine rotations each year, each rotation lasting 5 – 6 weeks. Three weeks of vacation are included each year.

Year 1

  • Obstetrics (three rotations)
  • Gynecologic oncology
  • Ultrasound
  • Surgical intensive care unit (SICU)
  • Mouse (GYN Nights)
  • Benign gynecology
  • Ambulatory

Year 2

Starting with PGY-2, each resident spends one half day in Continuity Clinic, a resident-run clinic overseen by the faculty. Each resident has her own patients, as well as ‘practice groups’ to simulate a physician’s practice.

Year 3

  • Gynecologic oncology (two rotations)
  • Minimally invasive surgery
  • Benign gynecology
  • Obstetrics (Missouri Baptist Medical Center)
  • Gynecologic ER night
  • Urogynecology
  • Elective/float
  • Antepartum

Year 4

  • Chief of obstetrics (two rotations)
  • Chief of the benign gynecology service
  • Chief of the antepartum service
  • Chief of the gynecologic oncology service
  • Family Planning/Float
  • Gynecology (Missouri Baptist Medical Center)
  • Consult
  • Ambulatory

Application process

Medical school graduates can enter the Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program immediately after graduation, applying through ERAS or ECFMG.
