The gynecology physicians at Washington University focus on providing leading-edge therapies and compassionate care to women, as well as maintain their optimal gynecological will-being and to treat a wide range of gynecological problems. Services include consultation and treatment for contraception, sexually transmitted diseases, and hormone replacement therapies as well as regular screening for cancers and other abnormalities of the reproductive system.
The seven full-time general obstetricians provide pre-natal care and delivery for women expecting normal labor and delivery. Our high-risk or multiple births, patients are referred to the maternal and fetal medicine clinical practice within the Ob/Gyn Department. They have created a group obstetrical practice that they feel is the absolute best and safest way to manage your pregnancy and delivery.
During the months of prenatal care patients have an opportunity to meet and get to know each doctor, so you and your partner are familiar with the physician who will be delivering your baby.
Patient appointments offer a variety of morning and afternoon times to schedule prenatal visits. Each day, one of the seven physicians is in the hospital attending to patients in labor and performing deliveries, which allows prenatal appointments for other patients to remain as scheduled. We appreciate and respect your time and will guide you through every step of your pregnancy. Each of the physicians also has a gynecology practice, so your care can continue after your pregnancy is completed.
The physicians of Washington University Obstetric Consultants are faculty of Washington University School of Medicine, who deliver exclusively at Barnes Jewish Hospital (BJH), located on Kingshighway.
US News and World Report ranks both Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Saint Louis Children’s Hospital (SLCH) in its top twenty national facilities every year. SLCH has a world class neonatal intensive care unit. No one ever anticipates complications, but pregnancies and deliveries are unpredictable, and this physician practice chooses to be prepared. So you can be comfortable with your choice, tours of the labor and delivery and postpartum areas are available.
