Why did you choose WashU for your residency?
I went to undergrad at Wash U, and some of my favorite memories from that time are volunteering in the nursery at Barnes-Jewish. The opportunity to come back to a city that I love, the hospital, patients, and people that ignited my passion for medicine, and a rigorous program that will prepare me to be an awesome generalist or start me on a path toward fellowship, was simply irresistible!
What are you looking forward to the most by being a resident here at WashU?
Learning every day, all the time. And, bonding with my co-residents!
What goals do you hope to accomplish during your residency?
I hope to learn everything I possibly can to help me be a wonderful physician to my patients. This includes surgical skills, soft skills, research skills, and everything in between. I have no doubt that Wash U is the right place to help me refine my skills and my goals over the next 4 years!

What do you do outside of work? I love to take long walks with my husband and dog, hike, run half and full marathons, bike ride, and generally be active. I also love to play piano, read famous peoples’ memoirs, and listen to crime podcasts.
What’s something that most people don’t know about you?
I’m a terrible cook- almost everything we eat at my house is previously frozen, from a box, or take-out 🙂
We know it’s early, but do you have any fellowship plans for after residency?
When I grow up, I want to be an OBGYN that serves a rural population… maybe a generalist, maybe fellowship… not sure yet!
What advice would you give medical students applying for a residency in OBGYN?
Keep on keepin’ on. There’s a long road ahead of you, but if you really love it, it’s totally worth it (at least that’s what they tell me!).
