Meet the Team

Meet Ryan Stoner

Ryan Stoner (they/them) is a Clinical Research Assistant for DCR. They have been with us for a little of a month. We are so excited to have them with us!

I care deeply about advocacy for marginalized people especially as it concerns the healthcare system in this country. Healthcare has historically not been equitable and accessible to immigrants, POC, the queer community, disabled folks, etc. I strongly believe that we have an obligation to continually learn from the mistakes of the past as we work towards a future of inclusion and caring for the communities we live in.

What do you do outside of work? family? hobbies?

Outside of work, I spend most of my time with my dog, my partner Ami, and my friends/family. I always have to have music playing and I love to cook dinner and play board games with friends. I crochet and read quite a lot as well.

What is your favorite part about your job?

I really enjoy the variety of people I work with. Spending time in both the OBGYN research office and the COH clinics allows me to work in a diverse array of settings and dynamics.

Name some things you’d take to a deserted island.

My dog. Not very practical, but at least I’d have company!

What is the best advice you ever received and who was it from?

I think often about what Mary Oliver (my absolute favorite poet) once wrote-

“Pay attention. Be astonished. Tell about it.”

I like to think this way of living helps me to notice good things often and to not forget to practice gratitude and humility as daily habits.
