Residency

Why did you choose WashU for your residency?

WashU had everything I was looking for in a residency – academic rigor, high patient volume, close proximity to home, and most importantly, a warm and welcoming community that I loved working with during my away rotation. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to learn to become an OBGYN at WashU!

Why OBGYN?
During my rotations in medical school, I realized that OBGYN was the only rotation where I could do it all – have continuity with patients, be in the OR, and deliver babies. When I first was on labor and delivery, I realized that being able to care for women during life changing moments was an important role I wanted to fill.

What are you looking forward to the most about being a resident here at WashU?
I am most looking forward to learning from amazing faculty alongside my wonderful co-residents!

What goals do you hope to accomplish during your residency?
During residency, I want to learn how to be a skilled and well-rounded surgeon and develop my skills to become a strong patient advocate with compassionate, patient-centered care. I hope to be a doctor that all patients can rely on for high-quality care in any aspect of OBGYN!

What are your research interests?
Quality of life, barriers to healthcare, and medical education

What do you do outside of work?
I’m a big foodie and can’t wait to explore the STL restaurant scene! I also love to spend time outdoors, running, finding workout classes, playing pickleball, and drinking coffee.

What’s something that most people don’t know about you?
I listen to classical music while I run! Might sound crazy, but I’m working on running a 10k!

We know it’s early, but do you have any fellowship plans for after residency?
I’m interested in Gynecologic Oncology at the moment!

What advice would you give medical students applying for a residency in OBGYN?

You’ve done all of the heavy lifting, so the application is just a way to show the programs all of the amazing things you already have done to get here! Try not to compare your story to others, you have a great one to tell. Also, trust your gut! You know yourself best.
