Guidelines for our patients »
Our gynecologists provide complete female reproductive health care for patients from childhood through menopause.
In addition to routine, annual visits, we provide a variety of medical and surgical options to treat common gynecologic conditions. If you and your doctor decide to proceed with a surgical therapy, you can choose to visit Barnes-Jewish Hospital or the South County Center for Advanced Medicine for minor, outpatient procedures.

Looking out for your health
At the center of your care is the annual well woman exam, an essential part of your preventive care. Your physician will conduct a breast exam, pelvic exam and Pap smear, discuss your overall health, and evaluate the need for additional screenings, such as for breast cancer, colon cancer or osteoporosis.
In addition to your annual visit, our board-certified physicians can see you for:
- Abnormal pap tests
- Heavy or irregular menstrual bleeding
- Painful menstrual bleeding
- Postmenopausal bleeding
- Ovarian cysts
- Polycystic ovarian syndrome
- Painful intercourse
- Contraception
- Preconception counseling
- Difficulty conceiving
- Breast health
- Surgical procedures including hysterectomies, polyp and fibroid removal, minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, dilation and curettage, and endometrial ablation
Highly informed referrals
When our patients need specialized care, we turn to our comprehensive network of Washington University Physicians in the Barnes-Jewish Hospital system. As a part of this network, we are able to make highly informed and individualized referrals for our patients in obstetrics, gynecology, and virtually any of the 76 specialties that Washington University Physicians serve.
Care during pregnancy
Many of our gynecologists are also obstetricians, so we’re able to care for our patients during pregnancy, labor and delivery as well. We provide nationally ranked care for mother and child at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
