WashU Medicine in St. Louis, a prestigious and nationally recognized institution, is currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Hospitalist to join our Division of Academic Specialists of Obstetrics & Gynecology (ASOG) on the clinician educator track.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Inpatient Care: Provide exceptional gynecology and obstetrics inpatient care at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. 
  • Surgical Emergencies: Manage gynecologic surgical emergencies. 
  • Obstetric Care: Deliver comprehensive inpatient obstetric care and perform deliveries. 
  • Supervision: Oversee the gynecology inpatient, consult, and transfer service. 
  • Education: Supervise, teach, and evaluate top-notch residents and medical students, fostering their growth and excellence. 

Work Schedule: 

  • Shifts: Enjoy a balanced work-life schedule with 12 shifts a month as a full-time faculty member. 

Collaborative Environment: 

  • Team Support: Join a dynamic team of eight ASOG faculty, three nurse practitioners, and the entire department faculty, including subspecialist support in every area. 
  • Large Patient Volume: Care for a substantial volume of both obstetric and gynecologic patients, ensuring continuous and diverse clinical experience. 

Modern Facilities: 

  • Outpatient Services: Provided on the main campus and at various clinical locations across the St. Louis region. 
  • Inpatient Services: Housed in the state-of-the-art Parkview Tower at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, with: 
    • 18 L&D rooms 
    • 3 ORs (including one for the Fetal Care Program) 
    • 18 antepartum rooms 
    • 36 postpartum rooms 
    • State-of-the-art gynecologic ORs 
    • An OBGYN designated assessment center 

Candidate Qualifications: 

  • Board certified or board eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology with an MD, DO, MD/PhD or equivalent degree
  • Outstanding Patient Care: Proven track record of delivering high-quality care. 
  • Educational Commitment: Strong dedication to resident and medical student education. 
  • Communication Skills: Excellent ability to communicate effectively. 
  • Healthcare Navigation: Experience managing busy and complex healthcare systems. 
  • Early Career Opportunity: We welcome newly graduated faculty interested in long term OBGYN Hospitalist Practice or those interested in subspecialty fellowship in the future. This is a clinical position with academic and research opportunities that would allow for curriculum vitae building.
