
Dr. Jamie Doss was recently honored with the “Friends of Nursing” award, a recognition given by his nursing colleagues in appreciation of his outstanding collaboration, compassion, and dedication to patient care. As a Chief Resident, Dr. Doss has consistently demonstrated a deep respect for the nursing team, actively fostering a supportive and team-oriented environment. His commitment to improving workflows, embracing change, and enhancing communication on the unit has not gone unnoticed. Nurses praised his approachable demeanor, willingness to teach, and unwavering advocacy for both patients and staff. As he prepares to graduate in June, Dr. Doss leaves behind a lasting impact and the admiration of those who have worked alongside him.

“Jamie is a Chief Resident and has been such a positive presence for nursing. He advocates for us and his patients. He is willing to help teach others and continue improving our workflows on the unit. Someone who embraces change and is easy to approach! We love working with him and are going to miss him so much when he graduates in June.”
“Jamie has grown so much since his first year of residency. He has openly taken feedback and has worked hard to create a collaborative environment with the nursing team to ensure positive patient outcomes. With an increased census, he has been proactive in trialing out new workflows to facilitate communication between the patient, the comm center, and providers. Moreover, Jamie’s compassionate bedside manner has often been mentioned in our surveys. He has a clear understanding of the population we serve and goes above and beyond to ensure his patients feel heard. He values the nursing teams and always seeks their clinical expertise to ensure all his patients have everything they need. He is going to be an amazing doctor!”
“Dr. Doss is always willing to assist everyone when he is working in L&D or WAC when needed. This includes doctors, nurses, and nurse practitioners. He is always ready to assist or talk about care or questions a nurse may have without judgment. Dr. Doss is always eager to assist in any way possible to keep the units, nurses, and patients safe.”
“Dr. Doss has been extremely helpful in organizing the cases in our communication center. He is extremely compassionate with our patients. He calls a team huddle to discuss the plan of care and resources for our patients. Over the years, Dr. Doss has become such an advocate for our nurses and our patients. Resident Dr. Ashlynn Kinnard, PGY-1, was also nominated.
“Dr. Kinard is a wonderful resident. She goes above and beyond for not only her patients, but for nurses as well. She has great communication skills. She makes us nurses feel ‘seen’. We are incredibly grateful for the guidance and reassurance she provides to us and the patients. Dr. Kinard is only a first year, but she will be even more successful these next three years and we cannot wait to see how much more she thrives!”
