
WashU Medicine’s Dr. Jeannie Kelly, Chief and director of Maternal-Fetal Medicine & Ultrasound, on a new bedside program helping postpartum mothers with hepatitis C begin treatment before leaving the hospital. “Curing hepatitis C in these mothers has a huge ripple effect — it protects their health, their families and their future pregnancies,” Dr. Kelly explained. By partnering across specialties to bring care directly to patients’ bedsides, the program has significantly increased treatment completion and cure rates.
