Dr. Sonn in “Encouraging workforce diversity-supporting medical students with mobility and sensory disabilities”

Medical schools have the responsibility to train a diverse physician workforce including those with disabilities. Medical educators increasingly encounter students with disabilities and are responsible for meeting requirements.

“In 2019, 5% of medical students reported a physical, learning, or psychological disability, compared with 3% in 2016, representing a 69% increase in the proportion of students reporting disability in just three years.”
