Educational Objectives:
- Analyze the impact that national trends in vaginal hysterectomy, breech vaginal birth, and forceps assisted vaginal delivery have on resident training in these specialty procedures.
- Evaluate the ability of the recommendations from leading national organizations such as ACOG and the ACGME to promote competency in these specialty procedures.
- Assess the evidence supporting personal, institutional, a systemic implementation of programs and educational resources designed to increase competency in the specialty procedures of the general obstetrician-gynecologist.
