Special Perspectives: Supporting our Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Community

9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m.
Zoom (Virtual)

Hosted by the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

In the last year anti-Asian hate incidents have gone up by 150% with 68% targeting Asian and Asian American Women.  From patients refusing to receive care from AAPI physicians to the recent mass shooting in Atlanta, GA where 6 Asian Women were among the 8 people killed, rising violence is stirring outrage and fear in the AAPI community. This discussion will provide a space to come together in support of our AAPI community. We will acknowledge the impacts and intersections of anti-Asian racism and misogyny and be reminded of ways we can be upstanders against it. This session is also being offered on April 1 from 12-1p.m.
