Why did you choose WashU for your residency?
I chose WashU because of its outstanding academic reputation and commitment to excellence in patient care, education, and research. I knew that training at WashU would provide me with the strong surgical foundation, clinical experience, and mentorship needed to become the best OB/GYN physician I can be while caring for a diverse patient population and continually growing as a clinician.
Why OBGYN?
I was ultimately drawn to OB/GYN because of the strong sense of patient ownership I experienced as a medical student. I love the breadth of the specialty and how it combines surgery and primary care to patients and results in long lasting relationships with them across all stages of life.
What goals do you hope to accomplish during your residency?
My goals during residency are to continue strengthening my surgical skills and develop into an efficient, well-rounded clinician who can thrive in today’s healthcare environment. By the end of training, I hope to have the confidence, clinical judgment, and technical expertise to practice as a generalist anywhere, knowing I received exceptional training and am well prepared to provide high-quality care to my patients.
What are your research interests?
HIV care in obstetric patients, medication management in pregnancy, disparities in obstetric care.

What do you do outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my husband, our family and friends, and our Goldendoodle. I love exploring the city to find new restaurants, roasteries, and hidden gems, and I enjoy painting as a creative outlet.
What’s something that most people don’t know about you?
I am Nigerian American!
We know it’s early, but do you have any fellowship plans for after residency?
While I am open to pursuing a fellowship, my current focus is on gaining a broad skill set and becoming an excellent general OB/GYN.
What advice would you give medical students applying for a residency in OBGYN?
Be helpful and believe in yourself. Also, it’s never too late to find your place in medicine. I discovered my passion for OB/GYN later than expected, but once I found it, everything clicked. Trust your gut!
