Andrew E. Galakatos, MD, is a Professor of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Washington University School of Medicine. He has a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy and a medical degree from the University of Missouri School of Medicine. He completed a rotating internship and residency in ob/gyn at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis and then a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Hospital in Houston, Texas, following two years of active military service.

Dr. Galakatos was in private practice in St. Louis for 20 years focusing his admissions at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in order to actively participate in the ob/gyn residency and gynecologic oncology fellowship training programs. He has been on the full-time staff in the department as an administrator and teacher for the past 20 years. Dr. Galakatos also has been an active member of national and regional professional societies and organizations and has co-authored numerous abstracts and papers.
