Residency

Why did you choose WashU for your residency?
I’m not sure what I want to do after residency so I wanted to make sure I was at a place that would adequately expose me to everything and prepare me for anything! I met a lot of people with similar passions and priorities as myself during interview day and DEI events so I knew I would be surrounded and supported by like-minded people. Plus, St. Louis is a super cool town with awesome people and a great cost of living.

What are you looking forward to the most by being a resident here at WashU?
Learning from all the phenomenal attendings and residents.

What goals do you hope to accomplish during your residency?
I want to work hard, learn a lot, stay true to my core values, and be proud of the physician I become!

What are your research interests?
Social determinants of health, racism in medicine, medical education

Hang out with my dog, talk about my dog, plan things to do with my dog. I also really like baking pastries and cookies.

What’s something that most people don’t know about you?
I’m a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer! I served as a Community Health Promoter in Peru between undergrad and med school.

We know it’s early, but do you have any fellowship plans for after residency?
Not a clue. Although I have a feeling I’ll end up somewhere in academic medicine.

What advice would you give medical students applying for a residency in OBGYN?
Apply “smart” but also don’t sell yourself short- apply to those reach/dream programs that feel like a good fit! You never know what could happen.
