Why did you choose WashU for your residency?
WashU is where my passion for women’s health and OB/GYN initially started! The sheer amount of OB/GYN-related research at WashU, from basic science to clinical, has always amazed me since I was an undergraduate student. So being surrounded by mentors and faculty doing the work that is changing the field is a huge reason why I wanted to come to WashU and is something I hope to contribute to. Also during my away rotation, I was amazed by how confident the residents were and they really exemplified to me the kind of resident I hoped to be in future.
What are you looking forward to the most by being a resident here at WashU?
Becoming an OB/GYN finally and caring for women! Also doing life with my co-residents as we go through one of the toughest yet most formative experience of our careers/lives
What goals do you hope to accomplish during your residency?
Becoming a confident resident especially on the labor floor and OR, engaging in impactful research, having a positive impact on my patients and colleagues, and learning to listen and advocate well for my patients
What are your research interests?
My previous research involved prenatal genetics, postpartum preeclampsia, genetic variants of the oxytocin receptor, and gynecologic oncology

What do you do outside of work?
I like doing pretty much anything creative with my hands and have phased through a lot of different hobbies (baking, knitting, pottery, watercoloring, building IKEA furniture). Currently, I’m learning how to use my new espresso machine! I also love playing board games, cafe hopping, trying out new restaurants, and binge-watching shows
What’s something that most people don’t know about you?
I ran a small online/instagram bakery during COVID!
We know it’s early, but do you have any fellowship plans for after residency?
Leaning towards GYN-related fellowships but also interested in MFM – we’ll see in a few years!
What advice would you give medical students applying for a residency in OBGYN?
Focus on sharing your story and passion, don’t get too worried about numbers/scores! Also don’t be afraid to reach out to those you know, even small connections, everyone is so willing to help and support you! Finally, applying is a tough process so please have some grace for yourself, lean on those around you, and take it day by day!
