Fellowship
Why did you choose your MFM fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine?
Having done residency at WashU, I knew the clinical training and research infrastructure were second to none here.
What impact have you had on the Fellowship?
I drafted the antenatal testing protocol and coordinated a QI project to ensure appropriate follow-up for patients with 3rd and 4th lacerations.
How has your opinion of the Fellowship changed since starting your training?
Despite the struggles of the pandemic, our faculty has been extremely supportive cooking us food and offering moral support to us despite the stresses of their job.
What are the greatest opportunities you have had to make a difference?
As fellows, we draft the division protocols, design and implement QI projects, and take leadership of resident education giving lectures at formal didactics and teaching on the job on L&D and in clinic. I also designed my own prospective research project and applied for and received my own grant to fund it. The grant money goes to paying research staff to recruit and run the project for me while I focus on clinical duties.
