Why did you choose WashU for your residency?
Many things about WashU stood out to me as a fourth-year medical student, such as the high patient volume and acuity of cases, many research experiences and opportunities, an emphasis on mentorship, and a diverse patient population. During my interview, the camaraderie within the program was obvious, and I could see myself working well with the amazing people there! The program is extremely well-rounded and will prepare me for any career path. St. Louis is also only a short flight from my hometown, which was important to me when looking at programs.
What are you looking forward to the most by being a resident here at WashU?
I am so excited to meet the faculty and my co-residents. The transition from being a medical student to a resident is challenging, but I am looking forward to providing the best possible care for our patients – it is an honor!
What goals do you hope to accomplish during your residency?
I hope to become a strong patient advocate and gain the confidence and knowledge necessary to provide high-quality care. Another goal is to become as proficient as possible in the operating room. Finally, I hope to continue honing my skills as a researcher!

I love to read and go on long walks. I also love spending time with my friends and family, whether it be trying a new restaurant, watching one of our favorite movies, or traveling!
What’s something that most people don’t know about you?
I trained in classical ballet for 15 years growing up. Going to the ballet is one of my favorite pastimes!
We know it’s early, but do you have any fellowship plans for after residency?
While I am open to all areas, I am particularly interested in GYN oncology and MFM. I’m looking forward to exploring each subspecialty throughout residency.
What advice would you give medical students applying for a residency in OBGYN?
Find one or two good mentors to guide you through the application process! I was in constant communication with my mentors, which was helpful when I needed to talk through certain aspects of applying. Be sure to think through what you want and find important in a residency program, then find programs that match those qualities. Last but not least, be yourself and let your personality shine through!
