Dr. Ebony Carter, former division chief, and associate professor of MFM, is leaving the department,
“I am writing to share bittersweet news that Dr. Ebony B. Carter, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, will be leaving our Department at the end of October 2023. She has been named chief of the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill. Her husband, Dedric Carter, has been named vice chancellor for innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic development and chief innovation officer.
Dr. Carter is an Associate Professor and Chief of the Division of Clinical Research (DCR). She joined our faculty in 2016 after completing her fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine here. Dr. Carter is recognized as an outstanding physician-scientist, gifted teacher, and mentor, and possesses complementary expertise that allowed her to help grow our reproductive health clinical research mission to improve the lives of all.
