Ramakrishna Kommagani, PhD, former instructor in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology at Baylor College of Medicine, has joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology as assistant professor.
Kommagani is welcomed by the faculty in the Department’s newly established Center for Reproductive Health Sciences. In his new role, Kommagani will work to create a research group focused on reproductive physiology and pathophysiology.
Kommagani earned his BS in Microbiology from Osmania University, Hyderabad, India and his PhD in Biomedical Sciences from Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio. He then completed postdoctoral training in Dr. Bert O’Malley’s laboratory at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas. He has authored or co-authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications. He is a recipient of the 2015 Early Investigators Award from the Endocrine Society and holds a K99 award funded by NIH/NICHD.
