The residency training program in obstetrics and gynecology at Washington University provides its trainees with an academically oriented, evidence-based curriculum.  Through a combination of supportive and accessible faculty, complex clinical services, and extensive subspecialty exposure, our program strives to help residents develop the confidence and independence required to proceed to the next step in their careers— be it subspecialty fellowship training or a career as a generalist in Ob/Gyn in an academic or private practice.

By caring for patients at facilities throughout the Barnes-Jewish Healthcare system, residents are exposed to clinical care in a variety of settings.  Our residents care for a diverse patient population from both within St. Louis and the surrounding areas of Missouri and Illinois, allowing them to appreciate the social determinants of health in a variety of populations and the important role advocacy plays in the delivery of patient care.

We strive to provide a team-oriented environment in which our residents can build upon their strengths, developing into future leaders in the field of obstetrics and gynecology.  As a graduate of the program, we hope your training will allow you to be comfortable in a variety of settings, whether it be providing evidence-based clinical care, educating the next generation of learners, or contributing to scientific discovery in the field.
